WT Communications ltd are the voice cable installation specialists. We will assess your current cabling system and advise, design, install, commission and maintain a cabling system to meet your requirements and budget.

Our engineers arrive on your project with everything you would expect for the installation of one of the most critical yet under-appreciated of a company's assets. At WT Communications Ltd we offer a "Universal Cabling System" which offers these benefits:-
  • No more dedicated VOICE or DATA lines
  • You can determine whether a line is Voice or Data by a simple patch cable change
  • Additional Voice or Data lines to a location when you need them

We are an official Excel, Pressac, Connectix, system installer and are able to provide maintenance on all these products.
We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of the latest technologies in UTP, gigabit Ethernet, Cable Trays, Cat5E, Cat6, wireless LAN, fibre optic cabling installation and cable management systems.

We only install the highest in quality Data Communication products in all our installations to guarantee quality.
WT Communications Ltd offers complete Category 5, Category 5E, Category 6 and Fibre optic LAN cabling solutions.

    Category 5 or Cat5

Category 5 cable Cat5 is a 4 pair (8 wire) twisted pair copper cable. Cat5 568A class D cable is capable of running up to 100Mbps, and comes in shielded (FTP / STP) or unshielded (UTP) cable, with UTP being the most commonly used cable.

    Category 5E or Cat5E

Cat5E is also a 4 pair (8 wire) Twisted pair copper cable. However by manufacturing the cable to a higher quality, with more refined twisting of the copper pairs, Cat5E is capable of running to data rates of 155Mbps. All of WT Communications current installations of structured cabling are to certified to Cat5E. Due to the higher specification of Cat5E, testing from end to end is a vital part of ensuring the quality and integrity of the installation. Cat5E is particularly sensitive to bad installation practice. For this reason each WT Communications Cat5E installation is tested and certified.

Cat5E cabling is a very versatile and cost effective cabling system which can be used (with adapters where appropriate) for the following different services
  • Voice (analogue & digital)
  • Ethernet
  • Fast Ethernet
  • Basic Rate ISDN (2B+D)
  • Primary Rate ISDN (30B +D)

This means you cut down installation costs, by having one type of building cabling rather than many different sorts for different applications.

    Optical Fibre

Optical Fibre Fibre Optical cabling offers many advantages over copper cabling. It offers greater distance, higher bandwidth allowing it to carry more data further distances. In addition Fibre optical cable is often used for security reasons. Fibre cable is very difficult to tap into compared with copper cable that radiates a copy of the signal passed through it. For this reason Fibre optical cable is used frequently in military installations. Within the LAN world Fibre is used to provide high bandwidth links. It may be used to run Ethernet, Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet links at much longer distances that that permitted by Cat5 copper cabling. For example Fibre optical cabling would be used to connect around a large building area or between buildings.

    Cable Termination Service

Optical Fibre WT Communications Ltd offers cable termination services for both copper and Fibre cables. This is used by third parties who do have the facilities to install building cable but do not want to get involved with the termination of the cabling. WT Communications Ltd can provide our engineers to terminate at both the patch panel and the wall outlet. In addition they will provide the testing and upon successful testing certify the installation. WT Communications Ltd installation engineers are trained to a very high skill level, in the latest installation guidelines and new technologies.
